Oklahoma sophomore Lisa Meldrum claimed the Candian Amateur title on August 17th in Manitoba, Canada. Meldrum was also named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, while coming from behind to tie Maria Boden of Oklahoma State and Amelia Moses of Missouri for first place in the Big 12 Championships.

"We are really excited to start our season. Karsten Creek is a really challenging golf course. Allison (Johnson) should play well, it caters to her strengths. With this format, where the team plays together, it should be a great opportunity as a coach to watch everyone. Everyone is playing well and it should come down to putting because the greens are big and fast."
