COLUMBUS, Ohio – The University of Oklahoma men’s golf squad returns to action this weekend at the 2010 Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, hosted at the par-71, 7,451-yard Scarlet Course of The Ohio State University Golf Club.

The 54-hole event begins with two rounds on Saturday, commencing with an 8:30 a.m. (CT) shotgun start.  Saturday’s afternoon play will begin immediately following the conclusion of the opening round. Sunday’s final round will feature tee times off No. 1 and No. 10, starting at 8:30 a.m. (CT).

Joining OU in the 11-team field are Charlotte, Eastern Michigan, Houston, Kent State, North Texas, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Xavier.

The Sooners are paired with Charlotte and Houston for Saturday’s rounds.

Oklahoma’s lineup remains unchanged from its group that placed fourth at the 24-team Cowboy Classic at the Talking Stick Golf Club North Course in Scottsdale, Ariz., on April 6.  The OU grouping includes Ben Blundell, Liam Logan, Riley Pumphrey, Tyler Rody and Ryan Sirman.

Blundell placed third in his last outing in the best finish by an Oklahoma golfer this season, while Rody’s tournament-opening 66 was the lowest single round by a Sooner during the 2009-10 campaign.

Northwestern is the defending champion after winning last year’s event with a 54-hole team score of 892 (+40), while the Buckeyes’ Brad Wright earned medalist honors in 2009 with his five-over finish.
