NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma marketing department has announced the 2010 promotions schedule for softball. Among the events being held are Faculty and Staff Night on March 5, Girl Scout Day on March 14, Kids Day on March 28, Student Night on April 14 and Breast Cancer Awareness Day on May 1. OU will honor the 2000 National Championship team the weekend of April 17-18. The popular 50-cent hot dog and Coke promotion returns February 16 vs. St. Gregory’s, March 3 vs. Tulsa and April 14 vs. Texas Tech.
Schedule cards and posters will be available at the Feb. 16 St. Gregory’s game and March 7 against Louisville. Fans can pick up schedule magnets on March 3 against Tulsa and against on March 5 against Nevada. The team has scheduled three autograph days this season with the first following the March 7 Louisville game. The second is March 27 after the first game of the Missouri series. The final autograph date is scheduled following the home regular season finale on May 2 against Kansas.
During the Texas weekend, April 17-18, Oklahoma welcomes home former letterwinners and will recognize the 2000 National Championship team. During the weekend, fan giveaways include a commemorative ticket and logo patch. Members of the 2000 team will be on hand to sign autographs both days.
Weather permitting, inflatable games for kids will be on site March 27-28 and May 1-2. Other giveaway items this year include OU beanies and growth charts on March 12, fan banners on March 14, mini bats on March 27, visors on March 28 and koozies on April 14.
Season tickets are on sale now through the University of Oklahoma Athletics Ticket Office. Fans can order reserved and general admission season tickets online at SoonerSports.com or by calling (405) 325-2424 or (800) 456-GOOU. General admission single game tickets for the home opener against St. Gregory’s are available now. Single-game tickets for all other games will go on sale March 2 at 8:00 a.m.
