NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's soccer team easily defeated Oral Roberts, 5-0, to move to 2-0 on the season for the best start in the program's history Tuesday night in front of 412 fans at the OU Soccer Complex. Five different Sooners scored goals and junior Jennifer Enos tallied five points (one goal and three assists) to tie a school record. Enos' three assists were also a new school mark. Oral Roberts falls to 0-2 on the year.

"The score is a reflection of how much this program has progressed," said Sooner Head Coach Randy Evans. "As for the game, we went through a lull in the first half, but I was extremely impressed with our intensity level at the start of the second half."

The Sooners wasted little time asserting themselves as they took the lead just 2:55 into the match when sophomore Logan Womack took a pass from Enos across the middle and scored from the left side. Oklahoma made it 2-0 in the 34th minute when sophomore Jessica Talton tallied the first goal of her career after rebounding her own attempted cross and scoring right in the front of the net.

In the second half, Oklahoma put the game away with two goals in a span of 4:09 into the second half. At 47:36, Enos recovered her own header at midfield and drove down to fire a shot in from 20 yards out. A minute and a half later, Enos assisted on junior Heather Martinelli's first goal of the year.

Enos' third assist came on the game's final goal in the 67th minute. Senior Jonette Coquat scored her second goal of 2001 and senior Megan Olsen was credited with the assist as well.

OU dominated play, outshooting the Golden Eagles, 29-2. Junior Jana Cunningham (2-0) and freshman Catherine Wade, making her Oklahoma debut, combined on the shutout.

Oklahoma next plays Drury on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the OU Soccer Complex.
