First Round Rained Out in Texas

NORMAN, Okla.- The University of Oklahoma women's golf team was unable to complete first-round action at the season-opening Texas A&M "Mo Morial" due to inclement weather.  The Sooners, who stand in fifth place out of 11 teams in their first action under new head coach Veronique Drouin, will pick up play Saturday morning at the par-72 Traditions Golf Club in Bryan, Texas.

OU junior Ellen Mueller completed 12 holes and leads the Sooners (share of fourth place) at even par.  Mueller recorded three birdies and three bogeys. 

Sophomore Brooke Collins is tied for 16th at +4 through while seniors Andrea Sellmeyer and Ryanne Elmer stand at +7 and +9, respectively.  Collins, Sellmeyer and Elmer each completed 15 holes.  Freshman Aly Seng, making her collegiate debut, was the only Sooner to finish her round.  Seng shot an 81 (+9).

Tournament host Texas A&M holds a one-shot lead at +2 over Tulane.  A&M Julia Boland is the leader at -2 through 15 holes.

Play will resume Saturday at 7:15 a.m. CT.  Second-round action will begin immediately after the conclusion of first-round play.
