Big 12 Announces Men's Basketball Schedule

NORMAN, Okla. -- The Big 12 Conference released its 90-game 2012 men's basketball schedule today, the only double round-robin slate in the nation among the six major conferences.  Oklahoma will begin its league schedule Jan. 4 at Missouri and finish March 3 at home versus Texas A&M.

Fifteen of OU's 18 conference games will air on national or regional television networks.  Sooner Sports Network TV information will be released at a later date.

OU will play its nine league home games against Kansas (Jan. 7, ESPNU), Kansas State (Jan. 14, Big 12 Network), Texas Tech (Jan. 17, Big 12 Network), Baylor (Jan. 24, Big 12 Network), Iowa State (Feb. 4, ESPN or ESPN2), Missouri (Feb. 6, ESPNU), Texas (Feb. 14, Big 12 Network), Oklahoma State (Feb. 22, Big 12 Network) and Texas A&M (Big 12 Network).

The Sooners' nine road games will be played at Missouri (television TBD), Oklahoma State (Jan. 9, ESPNU), Texas A&M (Jan. 21, Big 12 Network), Kansas State (Jan. 28, TBD), Kansas (Feb. 1, ESPNU), Texas Tech (Feb. 11, TBD), Iowa State (Feb. 18, Big 12 Network), Baylor (Feb. 25, Big 12 Network) and Texas (Feb. 29, ESPN2).

OU will play two of five Monday Big 12 games that will be televised by ESPNU in a new exposure for the league.  Those contests, which will tip at 6 p.m. CT, are Jan. 9 at Oklahoma State and Feb. 6 vs. Missouri.

In March, the Phillips 66 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship will continue to be televised on a variety of ESPN platforms including ESPN, ESPN2 and in regional syndication on the Big 12 Network.  The Championship will boast a new format, with two first-round games on Wednesday evening, March 7, followed by the quarterfinals, semifinals and title contest in successive days.

The Big 12 Network is in its fourth year, with games seen throughout the conference’s geographic footprint and produced by ESPN Regional Television.  It has also been distributed in numerous other markets, including New York, Chicago, Baltimore and Providence.  Among all the televised games, most will be shown as part of ESPN Full Court and available on

The Big 12 had the nation’s best non-conference winning percentage a year ago and has won 61.7 percent of its NCAA Tournament matchups since 2008, the second-best mark of any major conference.
