LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Chelsi Welch and Maria Villarroel each scored 17 points as No. 25 Oklahoma beat Nebraska 57-43 Saturday in the Big 12 opener for both.
Oklahoma (10-4) held Nebraska scoreless for more than seven minutes in the second half to pull away. The Sooners led 34-33 when Nebraska's Margaret Richards hit a jumper with 12:10 left.
But Oklahoma used a a 14-0 run to go up 48-33 on Villarroel's driving shot with 4:45 remaining.
Nebraska (7-5) cut the lead to 10 on Richards' 3-pointer with three minutes left. But the Cornhuskers couldn't get closer.
Nebraska made only six of 32 shots in the second half.
Oklahoma went through a scoring drought of its own, putting up only a single point in the final seven minutes of the first half. But Nebraska managed only six points in that stretch to tie the game at 21 at the break.
The teams combined for 29 turnovers in the first half and 48 overall.
Oklahoma made just 36 percent of its shots, but the Sooners held Nebraska to 24 percent from the field, including just 18 percent in the second half.
Richards led Nebraska with 17 points. Alexa Johnson added 12.
