NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma softball fans will have the opportunity to see former Sooner standout Jessica Leslie (2002-05) play with the ProFastpitch X-treme Tour (PFX) over Memorial Day weekend. The PFX Tour will be making its first stop of the summer at Boomtown Ballyards in Oklahoma City May 26-29.
Leslie joins 20 other professional softball players, including Lisa Fernandez and Stacey Nuveman, in its inaugural year of play. Current Sooner Kristin Vesely was also drafted by the PFX Tour, taken as the 14th overall pick, but can not join the tour until the conclusion of the Women’s College World Series.
The PFX Tour, founded by Team USA players Dot Richardson and Lisa Fernandez, brings professional and amateur athletes together at tournaments so not only do young athletes get to compete, they get the opportunity to watch, learn and interact with their favorite stars at the same event.
Leslie and her teammates will play their first game Saturday night at 7 p.m. and round out Sunday’s action with two games beginning at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. In addition, fans will have the opportunity to attend an autograph session from 12 p.m. 3 p.m. on Saturday. An instructional clinic by the PFX Tour will also be conducted on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Tickets are $10 for day pass and $20 for weekend pass and will be on sale at Boomtown Ballyards. The tickets include admission to the pro games as well as the youth games. Tickets for the clinic on Sunday morning can be purchased prior to the event.
