NORMAN, Okla. - Members of the OU women's gymnastics team welcomed their families back to campus over the weekend as the squad hosted Parent's Weekend.
The weekend's festivities included an open practice for the parents' viewing on Friday, a chance to meet Kirk Herbstreit and the rest of the ESPN College Gameday Crew - including a chance to sit in the announcers' seats on the set - and a tailgate party for the gymnasts and their families before the OU vs. Missouri football game.
The parents joined their daughters in the stands for the 41-31 Sooner victory over the Tigers.
"It was great to have the families of our athletes together this weekend," said head coach K.J. Kindler. "We hope it will become a long standing tradition for the Sooner Gymnastics Team."
Oklahoma opens the 2008 season on January 4 when the Sooners travel to the Cancun Classic in Cancun, Mexico.
