NORMAN, Okla. – University of Oklahoma senior Kendall Dye was selected Wednesday as the Big 12 Conference Women’s Golfer of the Month for her accomplishments in April. It was Dye’s first Big 12 Golfer of the Month award.
The Big 12 recognized Dye for claiming first-place finishes in OU’s final two events of the season. The senior from Edmond won her home tournament, the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic (April 5-6), for the second consecutive year and fired the tournament’s low round, a 1-over 73 on the second 18.
Almost three weeks later, Dye led the Sooners at the Big 12 Championship (April 24-26) by tying for first place. She carded a third-round 76 (+3) in Lubbock, Texas, en route to a three-round score of 225 (+6), matching Oklahoma State’s Ashley Freeman.
Dye is the only Sooner advancing to post-season play, as she tees off Thursday at the NCAA Central Regional in Columbus, Ohio.
