BEAUMONT, Texas - The Sooner volleyball team sprinted to a 3-0 start as Oklahoma defeated Texas A&M Corpus-Christi, 3-0, Saturday morning at the Cardinal Classic in Beaumont, Texas. OU has now won nine-straight games during the tournament, which is being held at the Montagne Center at Lamar University, since dropping the first game of its opening match to New Mexico State. The loss for TAMU-CC sent the Islanders' record to 0-3.

Oklahoma dominated on both the offensive and defensive ends for the third-straight game. The squad out-blocked the Islanders, 8-1, and held them to a .093 hitting percentage as a team. Middle blocker Cathy Cook once again sparked the Sooner offense as the senior posted a .500 attack percentage (12k-2e-20ta) for the match. Fellow senior Maria Holmgren equalled Cook's fabulous hitting percentage by landing seven of 14 attempts without an error.

OU goes for the tournament sweep tonight at 7 as the Sooners take on host-school Lamar in the event's final match.
