NORMAN, Okla. - OU went a combined 9-3 in singles on Saturday at the 2011 Sooner Fall Invitational at the Headington Family Tennis Center in Norman, four Sooners advance to Sunday's title matches.

Senior Marie-Pier Huet advanced to the Doubles A Championship with partner Nicole Long on Friday and with two wins in singles on Saturday, Huet will also play in the Singles A Championship.

Long advanced to the Singles B Championship with two wins Saturday and will face teammate Whitney Wofford in the final.

Long defeated Yana Kakovkina of UALR in the quarterfinals, 6-1, 6-0, before beating Barbora Vykdalova of North Texas in the semifinals, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6.  Wofford topped TU's Maria Santanna in the quarterfinals, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, before defeating Armstrong Atlantic's Kathleen Henry in the semifinals, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6.

"I was very happy with our level of tennis today," OU head coach David Mullins said. "But, I was quite disappointed in our mental game and some of our attitudes. We need to show a little bit more mental maturity. I'm hoping I see that tomorrow."

Sophomore Whitney Ritchie advanced to the semifinals of the Singles A draw after defeating Barbora Krtickova of Armstrong Atlantic, 7-5, 6-3, but due to an injury the sophomore did not play in the semifinal round.

Senior Peta Maree Lancaster won both consolation singles matches Saturday to advance to the Singles C consolation title match.  Lancaster defeated UALR's Evgeniya Gracheva in the consolation quarterfinals, 5-7, 6-1, 6-3, and advanced to the finals with a win over UALR's Alina Kolegova, 7-5, 6-3.

Sophomore Mia Lancaster fell in the Singles A quarterfinals to WSU's Delia Damaschin, 6-3, 1-6, 6-1.  Lancaster filled in for Ritchie in the draw's semifinals, but lost to Micah Hermsdorf, 6-0, 4-6, 6-3.

The Sooner Fall Invitational will conclude Sunday with the title matches in all three draws of both doubles and singles.

Admission to all OU women's tennis home events is free.
