Sooners Head to Arkansas in Final Tune-Up

NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma track and field teams compete at the Arkansas Twilight Friday, May 4 in Fayetteville. The meet is the last scheduled competition for OU before the 2012 Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 11-13 in Manhattan, Kan.

Oklahoma has 23 student-athletes scheduled to compete this weekend, beginning with the men’s and women’s pole vaults at 4 p.m. CT. Seth Lewandowski competes on the men’s side, while Alex Acker, Jacy Bennett and Morgan Nichols are in the women’s section.

Tre Lathan, Nathaniel Winfrey and Matt Wicks run in the men’s 110-meter hurdles preliminaries at 6:45 p.m. CT. The finals are scheduled for 7:40 p.m. CT.

Marcus Anderson and Evan Pierson run the men’s 100-meter dash at 7:05 p.m. CT and follow with the 200-meter dash at 8:20 p.m. CT. Shakeeri Cole will also run two events, beginning with the women’s 400-meter dash at 7:15 p.m. CT and then the 800-meter run at 7:50 p.m. CT.

Eric Harasyn, Patrick Casey, Frezer Legesse, Malcolm Wankel and Taylor Wardall run the men’s 800 at 8 p.m. CT. Natalie Crain also runs in the women’s timed 800 finals, while Crain, Molly Ferguson, Kelsey Brown and Hilary Krein participate in the 1,500-meter run at 8:45 p.m. CT.

George Alex, Bill Kogel, Riley Masters and Daniel Nicolls run the final track event of the day for OU in the men’s 1,500-meter run at 8:55 p.m. CT.
