Men's Tennis Falls To No. 6 Baylor In Big 12 Tournament

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team was defeated Friday by the No. 1 seed Baylor Bears, 4-0, in the opening round of the Big 12 Tournament at College Station, Texas. The Sooners finish 12-12 on the season, winning 10 more games than last season. Baylor improves to 23-1 on the year and will face the winner of the Oklahoma State/Texas Tech match on Saturday.

The Sooners dropped a pair of hard-fought doubles matches at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, 8-4, 8-3, respectively, en route to Baylor taking the doubles point. Freshman Alex Nomicos took Baylor's Matias Marin to a second set tie break at No. 4 singles, but dropped the match 6-0, 7-6 (7-4). At No. 5 singles, freshman Matt Long challanged BU's Reiner Neurohr, but lost a tough match, 6-1, 7-5.
