Oklahoma (11-5, 2-1 Big 12) picked up its first Big 12
Conference home win of the season by beating Texas A&M (8-7, 1-3 Big 12).
OU has won nine straight games against the Aggies.
The Sooners drew their second-highest attendance of the
season with 5,229 fans.
The Sooners shot 80.0 at the free throw line with the
starters shooting an impressive 13-13.
Oklahoma's bench hit 3-of-4 treys.
Junior guard Maria Villarroel was 9-9 in field goals and 3-3
in free throws. The 9-of-9 shooting tied the Lloyd Noble Center record of
100.0 percent, which was set by Jamie Talbert against TCU on 11/27/01.
Talbert, however, attempted just five shots. Villarroel's game does not go
into the school records book as 10 attempts are required for that list.
The Sooners held the Aggies to only 17 points in the second
half. TAMU made just 7-of-38 shots in the second half, including only
1-of-10 outside the arc.
Sophomore guard Lauren Shoush had a career high of five
steals and made her first three-pointer of the season.
Oklahoma had a season-high 17 steals. The previous best was
16 vs. Sam Houston State.
An assist was credited on 23 of OU's 28 field goals.
