Just like the revamped SoonerSports.com, Inside Glimpse, which chronicles the happenings of the Oklahoma women's gymnastics program through the eyes of assistant coaches Nilson Savage and Jenny Rowland, is back with a new look. The Inside Glimpse, which has been a regular feature on OU's athletics website for the last year, focuses on news and issues that the sporting public does not usually have access to.

NORMAN, Okla.-After a record-breaking year academically, the 2004 Big 12 and West Regional Champions are back for more. Erin LaBarr, Nicole Gause, Tiffany Willin, Kristen Cox, Brittany Koncak, Katie Hostler, Tara Anderson, Ashley Cooney and Elizabeth Tandy are back in the gym preparing to defend their Big 12 Title this year, hosted by OU in the Lloyd Noble Center on March 26.
To help them achieve this goal we have gone across the seas to gather the largest and best freshman class to attend the University of Oklahoma. Stephanie Lopiccolo (Australia), Coral Borda (Brazil), Caitlin Hinkis, Jessica Kinder, Jenny Baker, Lisa Neal and Meghan McWethy compile a class with international flair and a lot of experience.
Official practices have not started but the girls have been working hard with Monica Wolf our strength and conditioning coach. The majority of them are handling this first phase of preparation really well and it appears that they kept active throughout the summer.
A couple of weeks ago we had our conference championship rings presented to us in front of 80,000 fans (picture below) at the home OU football game against Houston. The support of the fans and their excitement in recognizing our accomplishment was very contagious and emotional to all of us. You could see the pride of Oklahoma stamped on our faces when we walked off that football field. The girls are very confident and committed to another great journey this 2004-2005 season. Thank you to all of you for your continued support!
