NORMAN, Okla. -- It is time for Courtney Paris to get a new nickname. Miss Consistency.
On Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 her double-double (points and rebounds) streak will be one year old. The Sooner center has collected a double-double in 34 straight games dating back to Dec. 5, 2005. The streak began with a 24 point, 22 rebound performance against UCLA on Dec. 5, 2005.
No other player in Division I basketball can claim such a streak. And while the NCAA does not keep records on double-doubles, it is believed that very few, if any, have ever had such a streak.
