Promotions Set for Softballs Red River Showdown

NORMAN, Okla. The No. 19 Oklahoma softball team welcomes the No. 2 Texas Longhorns to the OU Softball Complex this Friday and Saturday on national television and a full weekend of promotions is set for the event.

Children attending the OU vs. Texas softball game this Saturday will have the opportunity to hunt for eggs filled with candy and prizes around the OU Softball Complex.  The hunt will start at 11 a.m., an hour before first pitch.

Friday night, the first 250 fans through the gate will receive a Boomer Bobble Head.

The 19th-ranked Sooners (27-15-1) and the No. 2 Longhorns (40-4) will square off this weekend in a two-game series that will be shown on national television.  In Friday night’s action, OU and UT will square off at 8 p.m. on ESPNU (DirecTV Ch. 609).

Oklahoma will round out the series on Saturday with a 12 p.m. contest against Texas that will be televised on ESPN (Cox Channel 29, OKC).

Seats to this weekend’s games are still available for $10 (reserved), $7 (adult general admission), $5 (youth general admission) and $3 (groups of ten or more must be ordered 24 hrs in advance) at the OU Athletics Ticket Office (800-456-4668) and at  The gates will open an hour and a half before game time.
