SEATTLE — One week after breaking the Oklahoma record in the indoor 3,000-meter run, OU sophomore Kevin Williams lowered his time by close to a full second Saturday evening at the Husky Classic in Seattle. Running in the sixth and final section of the 3K, Williams clocked a time of 7:56.58 to finish 17th overall and 12th among collegiate athletes.

At last week’s GaReat Invitational, Williams broke the one-year old Oklahoma record with a time of 7:57.46.

Frezer Legesee moved to No. 3 on the Oklahoma all-time performance list in the mile as he clocked a time of 4:03.00 in the event’s seventh heat. With Legesse’s mark, the top five miles time in Oklahoma history and seven of the top 10 have come in the last four seasons. The time is the third fastest in the Big 12 this season.
