COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Andrei Daescu and Federico Chavarria were eliminated from the doubles bracket at the 2007 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships hosted by The Ohio State University.
Chavarria and Daescu advanced to the second round of the doubles bracket after defeating Bogden Borta and Justin Chow of Columbia, 8-3, Thursday in the first round.
The Sooners were defeated Friday by Justin Kronauge and Drew Eberly of Ohio State, 8-6.
"These two kids showed a lot in the last two weeks and that is a very big positive heading into our break before spring competition," head coach Paul Lockwood said.
Daescu, playing in the singles consolation bracket, was defeated by Robert Farah, 6-4, 6-0, Friday afternoon.
"Anytime you get a chance to play in this event it has a positive effect on your game," head coach Paul Lockwood continued.
"Andrei gained some very valuable experience this weekend and it will help his game tremendously in the future," Lockwood said.
Daescu is now eliminated from competition.
"Andrei may have lost two matches but by playing the opponents he played it will make him a better player in the long run," Lockwood continued.
This weekends action concludes the Sooners fall schedule.
