NORMAN, Okla. -- The 16th-ranked University of Oklahoma volleyball team continued its winning streak in the Nike Invitational, sweeping Oral Roberts University (-16, -17, -15) Saturday afternoon.

"Today was an opportunity for everyone to play," said Oklahoma head coach Santiago Restrepo. "I thought everyone contributed and did a very good job."

The first set started uneasily with ORU (0-2) gaining an early lead. However, OU (2-0) eventually tied the game 12-12 and went on a 9-0 run to lead the set 21-12 and went on to win 25-16.

The Sooners were off to a more convincing start in the second set. OU led out of the gate, never allowing ORU to take the lead or tie as they won the second set 25-17. The Sooners were also consistent in final set, winning 25-15 to secure the win.

Senior Brianne Barker (Amarillo, Texas) registered 29 assists and 12 digs, marking her 59th career double-double and second in as many days.  Senior Suzy Boulavsky (Houston, Texas), sophomore Sallie McLaurin (Midwest City, Okla.) and freshman Tara Dunn (Poth, Texas) contributed six kills each. Junior Maria Fernanda registered 17 digs.

Dunn was one of several freshmen seeing playing time in the match. Grace Whitley (Kansas City, Mo.), Kaitlyn Drawe (Lee's Summit, Mo.) and Caroline Weir (Dallas, Texas) also saw time. Senior Carlee Roethlisberger (Findlay, Ohio) made her second career start for Oklahoma.

Dunn started the second and third sets and along with her six kills, she had one service ace and six digs. Whitley also started the second and third sets, recording three kills, two block assists and hit .375.

As a team, the Sooners had eight service aces, highlighted by two each from Barker and Eden Williams (Amarillo, Texas). McLaurin led the Sooners with a .400 hitting percentage.

For ORU, Sheina Fernandes had seven kills, followed by Tatum Fredeen with five. Bruna Silva contributed 19 digs. As a team, ORU hit .033.

Tournament action continues Saturday evening at McCasland Field House, with ORU facing SMU at 5 p.m. CT. The Sooners close out the event with a 7 p.m. CT contest against Missouri State. GameTracker for all matches is available at SoonerSports.com.
