Men's Tennis Falls To No. 44 Oklahoma State, 4-3

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team was defeated by Oklahoma State, 4-3, on Wednesday, April 10, at the Debois Tennis Center in Stillwater, Okla. The Sooners fall to 11-7 on the season, 0-3 in the Big 12 Conference. The No. 44 Cowboys improve to 9-4 on the year, 1-1 in league play..

The Sooners split three out of the six singles matches, but were unable to win the decisive doubles point, dropping all three matches. In singles play, Junior Chris Mitchell was victorious at the No. 4 spot, improving to 11-5 on the season. Junior Matt Ogle and freshman Alex Nomicos won at No. 5 and 6 singles, respectively, improving to 10-3 and 12-5 on the year.

Oklahoma returns to action Saturday, April 13, against Colorado (11-9, 1-4) at noon. The Sooners will have a dedication ceremony for their new facility, the OU Headington Family Tennis Cener, at 11 a.m. Athletic Director Joe Castiglione, Tim Headington and several other donors will be in attendance as an eight foot brick wall, featuring the Headington name, and a free standing recogniton piece will be unvieled. Castiglione, head men's tennis coach Paul Lockwood and head women's coach Mark Johnson will speak during the ceremony.
