NORMAN, Okla. - After opening the second half of Big 12 Conference play on Wednesday night, the Oklahoma volleyball team (6-13, 1-10 Big 12) will continue making its way through the league for the second time as they travel to face No. 21 Texas A&M (14-5, 9-3 Big 12) on Friday night. The match is set to start at 7 p.m. inside the G. Rollie White Coliseum.

The Aggies issued the Sooners their second conference loss earlier in the season in a 3-0 win on OU's home court. In the match, OU struggled to contain TAMU's explosive offensive attack as six Aggies registered above a .300 hitting percentage for the match, while the Sooners averaged a .115 hitting percentage. OU seniors Cathy Cook and Maria Holmgren combined to post over half of the team's kill total with 18 and 10, respectively.

OU will be looking to snap the Aggies' 15-match win streak against the Sooners. The only time Oklahoma pulled a victory out of Texas A&M was a 2-0 win in 1979. TAMU has claimed 21 of 22 in the all-time series.

Over the last three matches, the Sooners have had two players register double-digit kills in each match, Holmgren who is averaging over 12 kills a match over that span. Cook continues to lead the team with a 4.56 kill per game average and a .329 hitting percentage. As a team, Oklahoma is averaging 14.55 kills per game and a .200 attack percentage.

Over its last seven matches, 21st-ranked Texas A&M is 6-1, including a sweep over Kansas in its latest contest. The Aggies are currently riding a 27-match home winning streak, including a perfect 7-0 this season. As of Oct. 23, Texas A&M ranked first in the Big 12 Conference and among the nation's best in three categories: kills (18.31), digs (19.34) and assists (16.55) per game. Junior outside hitter Erin Gibson leads the team in kills per game with a 4.15 average. Gibson also owns the league's best digs per game average at 4.32.
