NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma track and field teams are set to compete at the 2011 New Balance Collegiate Invitational Friday and Saturday, Feb. 3-4, at The Armory in New York City. The prestigious two-day meet features 10 men's teams and 13 women's teams currently ranked in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association top 25 poll.
The Sooners begin action Friday afternoon with the men's 200-meter college heats at 1:05 p.m. CT. Ethan Baker, Jamel Wood, Daniel Mazar, Brandon Doughty, Shelleyeka Rolle, Malcolm Anderson, Evan Pierson, Sherine Wells and Shawna Anderson are all scheduled to run on the opening day in addition to the men's distance medley relay in the final event of the day at 4:55 p.m. CT. The men's DMR makes its season debut and Eric Harasyn, Frezer Legesse and Riley Masters along with Baker are all scheduled to participate. The team faces the top-ranked men's team in the nation in the event, Texas A&M.
Saturday's action includes Rolle, Wells and Anderson in the women's 200-meter championship heats at 10:22 a.m. CT. Pierson, Doughty and Mazar also compete on the final day. The men's 4x400-meter relay is the final track event scheduled at 4:55 p.m. CT.
