DALLAS -- Courtney Paris (Oklahoma) and Bernice Mosby (Baylor) were named Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Players of the Week while Mosby (Baylor) was also selected Phillips 66 Big 12 Rookie of the Week by a media voting panel for games from Nov. 13-19.
Paris extended her Big 12 record for career weekly honors to 13 after winning three player of the week and nine rookie of the week awards last year. Mosby was recognized by the conference for the first time.
Paris won MVP honors at the Marriott Beach Waikiki Classic by averaging 21 points, 15.5 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals in two Oklahoma wins.
In the opener against Eastern Kentucky, Paris needed only 27 minutes to tally 24 points, 16 rebounds, three assists and three blocks. In the title game against the Rainbow Wahine, Paris registered 18 points and 15 rebounds in just 24 minutes of action. Paris has recorded a double-double in every game this season and in 31 consecutive outings.
The Sooners conclude their West Coast road trip at No. 20 UCLA on Tuesday night at 7 Pacific.
