GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Junior Mike Westlund won his second pole vault title in two weeks and posted his third NCAA provisional mark in three weeks to lead the Sooner contingent in Gainesville at the 58th annual Florida Relays.

Bambi Carson posted her third consecutive NCAA provisional mark in the shot put, boosting her season best to 50-9.25 which placed third. She also was third in the discus. Senior LaBoris Bean got his first NCAA provisional mark of the outdoor season with a 50.97 in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles. He finished second with the time. Senior Alesha Peel finished third in the 100-meter low hurdles with a 13.50, her first NCAA provisional mark in the outdoor season.

Other strong Sooner performances included Ernest Lewis, who finished second in the men's 400-meter dash with a season-best 46.73. Raoul Harvey, who added a fifth-place finish in the 400,. Jimyria Hicks, who finished fourth in the 200 with a 24.08, Sand Swaby, who tied for second in the high jump, and Joey Scott, who was fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles.

OU also did well in the men's pole vault. In addition to Westlund's first-place finish, the Sooner got a tie for fifth by Brett Corlett.

The Sooners finished third in the women's 400-meter relay and sixth in the 1600-meter relay while the Sooner men were third in the 400- and the 1600-meter relays.

Several other Sooners competed in the Arlington Invitational Saturday but complete results had not been released by Saturday night.
