NORMAN, Okla. The Oklahoma men’s golf team’s season came to an end Friday evening as the Sooners failed to make the final cut at the NCAA Championships in Sunriver, Ore.
OU shot a team score of 313 (+25) in the third round to finish at 903 (+39). The cut line for Saturday’s final round was 10-over-par.
Junior Anthony Kim carded the low round of the day for Oklahoma with a 2-over 74. The La Quinta, Calif., native recorded 16 pars and two bogeys on his final 18 holes. He finished the tournament with a three-round total of 225 (+9).
Senior Justin Fraley and sophomore Phillip Bryan carded matching 12-over 84s for OU’s final counting score of the day. Fraley tallied a tournament total of 228 (+12). Bryan, a Mustang, Okla., native, finished 16-over for the event.
Washington holds a three-stroke advantage over Arizona State, Oklahoma State and Wake Forest heading into the final round.
Only two teams, BYU and Duke managed to break par on Friday at the Crosswater Golf Club at the Sunriver Resort.
Oklahoma State’s Jonathan Moore is the individual leader at 7-under-par, one shot clear of Wake Forest’s Kyle Reifers.
