NORMAN, Okla. -- The 49th-ranked University of Oklahoma men’s golf squad will travel to San Antonio, Texas, this week to open its spring schedule at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational. The 17-team, 54-hole tournament, hosted by the University of Texas-San Antonio, will be played Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 14-15) at the par-71, 6,765-yard Oak Hills Country Club.

“We are excited to get the season going after a couple of tough weeks here in Norman with the weather, and the boys are fired up to get down to San Antonio,” said OU head coach Ryan Hybl. “We are eager to get out and compete and hopefully have an opportunity to win a golf tournament.”

The Sooners will have to conquer some tough competition to do so, including four other Big 12 teams in No. 20 Texas Tech, No. 50 Baylor, Iowa State and Kansas State. Other teams in the field include No. 28 North Texas, No. 40 Tulsa, Air Force, Illinois State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Rice, Sam Houston State, Southeastern Louisiana, Stephen F. Austin, Texas State, UTSA and Wichita State.
