NORMAN, Okla. - The 2008 Big 12 Champion Oklahoma Sooners will host No. 4 Alabama, No. 16 Boise State, No. 19 Arizona State, No. 24  Illinois and Southeast Missouri State at the NCAA South Central Regional on April 12 at 6 p.m. at the Lloyd Noble Center.  The NCAA made the announcement on Monday, March 31.

Norman is one of six regional sites with competition being held nationwide on April 12.  The other five regional sites include Baton Rouge, La., (Central), Minneapolis, Minn., (North Central), University Park, Pa., (Northeast), Gainesville, Fla., (Southeast) and Corvallis, Ore., (West). 

The top two teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA Championships in Athens, Ga., on April 24-26.

"We are excited to be hosting such a prestigious postseason event and look forward to our fans coming out and giving the vocal support that willed us to the Big 12 title last week," said head coach K.J. Kindler. "The South Central field includes some of the best teams across the country and we will have to be at our best to advance.  I encourage everyone to come out and support the Sooners as this meet will be a great display of quality gymnastics from top to bottom."

It will be the first meeting of the year between OU and all five South Central Regional opponents.   

The Sooners open the meet on bars, receiving their rotation via a blind draw conducted by the NCAA office. OU's rotation order will be bars, beam, bye, floor, vault and bye. The individual all-arounder competing with Oklahoma is Annie Kachman of Illinois-Chicago.

The No. 10 Sooners (21-0) finished the 2008 regular season as the only undefeated squad in the NCAA. Clinching last week's conference title in dramatic fashion, Big 12 Gymnast of the Year Kiara Redmond-Sturms posted a 9.95 on vault in the last routine of the night as the Sooners needed a 9.875 or better to claim the conference crown.
