NORMAN, Okla. The University of Oklahoma women's golf team placed first at the Price's Give Em Five Intercollegiate with a total of 888 (+24) after recording a 290 in the final round Wednesday at the 6,319-yard, par-72 New Mexico State University Golf Course in Las Cruces, N.M. The victory for the seventh-ranked Sooners (Golfweek) marked their first since last April at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic in Norman.
Two Sooner golfers finished in the top five. Senior Lisa Meldrum continued her stellar fall play and finished tied for second place (3-over-par 219) after recording a season-low 69 Wednesday. Senior Hope Edge earned her best finish of the season after placing fifth with a total of 221 (+5). Sophomore Amparo Gala tied for 17th after carding a final-round 77 while junior Emily Milberger also tied for 17th with 226 (+10) total strokes.
