NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma wrestling team, which is ranked 15th, fell to No. 21 Iowa State (6-10), 27-19, today in Ames, Iowa. Oklahoma (12-7) competed without Tom Grossman (197 pounds) and All-Americans Witt Durden (133 pounds) and Josh Lambrecht (184 pounds). True-freshman Teyon Ware (24-4) defeated defending 141-pound National Champion Aaron Holker for the second time this season, 9-3. Ware's other victory came at the National Duals when he downed Holker 3-1.

"This was a very tough outing for us," said Head Coach Jack Spates. "We left Witt Durden, Josh Lambrecht and Tom Grossman at home. All three could have wrestled, but this will be better in the long run. The turning point came at 165 pounds when we were winning and then got pinned. We should have the missing guys back in our line-up for the bedlam dual."

Senior Robbie Waller (26-5) gave the Sooners their first points of the dual when he decisioned Ken Cook (5-12), 7-6, at 174 pounds. Oklahoma's Bo Maynes (32-5) scored bonus points for OU when he major decisioned Grant Nakamura (15-11), 10-2, in the 125-pound battle. At 157 pounds, Rafael Maturino (17-15) defeated Cyclone Nathan Meyer (12-11), 7-4, while Sooner Jake Hager (2-5) received the six-point forfeit at heavyweight.

Iowa State scored three pins in today's dual at 165, 197 and 133 pounds. Oklahoma's Wes Roberts (15-15) fell at 165 pounds to Nick Passolano (16-8) at the 2:49 mark, 197-pound wrestler Derrick Brown (3-8) was pinned by Woodley Milord (9-15) at 1:37 and Cyclone Zach Roberson (19-3) tallied the final pin at 133 pounds over Daniel Caruthers (6-5) at 3:54. Oklahoma forfeited 184 pounds and Iowa State's Nate Gallick (14-13) decisioned Danny Rubenstein (3-10), 10-3, at 149 pounds.

Oklahoma's next dual will be a bedlam battle against Oklahoma State on Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. in Stillwater, Okla.
