NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma track and field teams host the J.D. Martin Invitational Duals Saturday at the Mosier Indoor Facility. Field events begin at 10 a.m. CT, with track events beginning at 12:30 p.m. CT. Admission to the meet is free. In addition to the meet in Norman, a group of men's distance runners are scheduled to compete at the Galdstein Invitational in Bloomington, Ind., Friday and Saturday.
In addition to Oklahoma, student-athletes from Grambling State, North Texas, UT-Arlington, Tulsa and Oklahoma State are scheduled to compete.
The meet is the first competition of the season for the majority of Sooners. A total of 31 men are scheduled to compete in 10 events, while 29 women are entered in 11 events. Oklahoma's returning champion from last year is redshirt junior Conrad Aaron, who won the shot put title.
Oklahoma's Tia Brooks and Bailey Wagner are ranked in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) preseason top 35 in the shot put. Brooks made the list at No. 4, while Wagner is No. 34. Five athletes with top 50 national marks in their respective events are scheduled to compete along with six returning event champions.

Bill Kogel competes in the 3,000-meter invitational run at 6:35 p.m. CT Friday at the Gladstein Invitational, while George Alex, Frezer Legesse and Taylor Wardall take to the track in the invitational mile at 7:05 p.m. CT.
Saturday's action includes Riley Masters and Brandon Doughty running the invitational 800-meter run at 12:10 p.m. CT and Legesse, Alex and Wardall in the 800-meter run at 12:35. Daniel Mazar and Eric Harasyn close out individual events in the 600-meter invitational run at 12:55 p.m. CT. The Sooners comepete in the 4x800-meter relay at 1:40 p.m. CT.
