NORMAN, Okla. - The top-ranked Oklahoma men's gymnasts team (9-0) is set to host No. 10 Minnesota (2-7) and No. 11 Stanford (4-7) on Sunday, March 3, at the Lloyd Noble Center. The five seniors, Everette Bierker, Ryan Hillyer, David Johnston, Jim Lovelady and John Payton, will be honored before the beginning of the 2 p.m. meet.

"Minnesota and Stanford are both teams we expect to see at the NCAAs," said OU head coach Mark Williams. "I'm putting together a strong lineup, and if we do our job, we shouldn't have any problems on Sunday."

The undefeated Sooners look to stretch their winning streak to 11 this weekend before traveling to Stanford, Calif., next weekend for their last regular season meet. Last weekend, OU defeated Nebraska on the road, 211.550 to 206.600. Sophomore Jock Stevens finished first on both the parallel bars and floor exercise, while junior Josh Landis took the pommel horse title and Bierker took first on the high bar.

Minnesota and Stanford will both compete tonight at Nebraska and Air Force, respectively, before traveling to Norman. The Gophers are 2-7 entering the weekend and are coming off a win over Illinois-Chicago. The Cardinals are 4-7 on the year and most recently placed third at UC-Santa Barbara.

"I think this meet is significant in that it's the last home meet before the NCAAs," said Williams. "I am asking the guys to put themselves in a situation like they're at the national competition since it will be at the Lloyd Noble Center. We can use this meet as a time for mental preparation."

The NCAA National Championships will be held at the Lloyd Noble Center on April 4-6. The top 12 men's teams in the nation will be competing for the national title.
