NORMAN, Okla. -- In its final non-conference match of the season, the Oklahoma soccer team fell to to No. 15 Virginia Tech 4-1 Sunday in Blacksburg, Va. Senior Katharine Nutman scored the OU goal in the 78th minute, and senior goaltender Kelsey Devonshire recorded five saves.

After two early goals by the Hokies, Nutman cut Virginia Tech's deficit in half with a goal in the 78th minute. From just outside the penalty box, Jade Dapaah sent a shot towards the goal that bounced off several Hokie defender right to Nutman, who put the ball in the back of the net for the third goal of her career and first since the 2010 season.

The Sooners were outshot 17 to 6 for the game, with nine Hokie shots coming on goal compared to OU's five shots on net.

Virginia Tech (11-3, 2-2 ACC) scored the game's first goal in the fourth minute off the foot of Ashley Meier. Sending the ball over Devonshire's head, the goal was assisted by Shannon Mayrose, who fed it about five feet to the top of the penalty box where Meier connected.

The second Hokie goal was scored by Katie Yensen off a a rebound in the 34th minute. A quick Virginia Tech shot caromed off Devonshire right to Yensen on the top right side of the penalty box, who shot it straight through to the far post.

Virginia Tech's final two goals came in the 82nd and 87th minute from Jazmine Reeves and Ellie Zoepfl, respectively.

The Sooners (4-7-4, 0-2-2 Big 12) return to the pitch this weekend at John Crain Field when they host Kansas on Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. OU closes out its 2012 home slate against TCU on Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. The 2012 seniors will be honored during Sunday's home finale. Both contests will air live on Sooner Sports TV. Friday's match against the Jayhawks can be seen on FS Oklahoma, while Sunday's contest against the Horned Frogs will air on FS Southwest.
