NORMAN, Okla. -- Head coach Randy Evans and the OU soccer program announced the signing of Evelyn Larson to the Sooners’ 2006 class on Friday.
Larson, a senior at Franklin High School in El Paso, Texas, has been a part of the Kentucky and Illinois Olympic Development State Teams over the past couple of years. Additionally, she was a starting goalkeeper for the Franklin High School soccer team and played for the New Mexico Rush Soccer Club.
“We are thrilled to add Evelyn and her commanding presence to a goalkeeper pool in which the daily competition is going to be fun to watch,” said Evans. “This is, without a doubt, the deepest and most talented group we have ever had at the goalkeeper position at Oklahoma.”
Larson joins a class that consists of five student-athletes from Texas, two from Oklahoma and two more from New Mexico. In addition to Larson, the following names will be joining OU for the 2006 season: Ashlee Coleman (Albuquerue, New Mexico), Ashley Farrand (Tulsa, Okla.), Daphne Fitzpatrick (Katy, Texas), Kasey Hahn (Norman, Okla.), Tara MacDonald (Austin, Texas), Kate Leyendecker (Albuquerque, New Mexico), Kate Marr (Frisco, Texas), Rebecca Nelson (Cedar Hill, Texas) and Whitney Palmer (Plano, Texas).
