NORMAN, Okla. - The 15th Annual Mountain Dew College Slam Dunk and Three-Point Basketball Championships will be held this Thursday in New Orleans, La., and Oklahoma All-American Hollis Price will be one of the featured participants in the shooting contest.
Price, who hails from New Orleans and attended St. Augustine High School, made 94 three-pointers this season for the third-highest single-season total in school history. His .433 season percentage ranks third in the Big 12 Conference while his .509 mark in Big 12 games ranked second. The senior guard finished the season averaging 18.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 steals per contest.
The three-point contest will also feature Duke's Dahntay Jones, LSU's Ronald Dupree, Arizona's Jason Gardner, Creighton's Kyle Korver, Indiana's Tom Coverdale, Tulane's Byron Parker and Purdue's Willie Deane. Celebrity judges will include New Orleans Hornets Baron Davis and Robert Traylor, New Orleans Saint Deuce McAllister and former Major League Baseball player Will Clark.
The dunk and three-point championships will be held at the Alario Center at the Baylou Segnette Sports Complex. The event will air on ESPN Thursday on a one-hour tape delay and again on the network Saturday from 2-4 p.m. CST.
