NORMAN, Okla. - The fourth-ranked Oklahoma women's gymnastics team will have yet another test this season in facing Boise State on Friday, Feb. 15, at 8 p.m. CST in Boise, Idaho. The Sooners are coming off a home victory over No. 13 Florida ast weekend. As a team the Sooners are ranked second on the floor exercise, fourth on the vault, seventh on the uneven bars and 10th on the balance beam nationally.

"We are excited about going to Boise," said OU head coach Steve Nunno. "What we want to do this weekend is give some of the girls a chance to compete by having them do more exhibitions, shuffle the lineup and try some new things. We plan to use this meet as a learning experience and also rest some girls on events. We want to keep our ranking but we also want to take some chances."

Oklahoma (6-2) is being led by senior Mariana Goncalves, who earned her third Big 12 Gymnast of the Week honor last week for her performance against Florida. Goncalves is ranked No. 3 in the all-around and uneven bars and No. 7 in the vault. Sophomore Kasie Tamayo, who has earned Big 12 Gymnast of the Week honors as well, is another top performer for the Sooners. Tamayo is No. 7 on the balance beam and No. 10 in the all-around.

Boise State (3-6) is coming off a loss to Sacramento State, but posted its best road score of the season with a 193.350. The Broncos have defeated Brown, Utah State and Seattle Pacific and lost to Arizona, UCLA, Cal State Fullerton, Washington and San Jose State.
