NORMAN, Okla. The Oklahoma softball team will play its sixth and final home game of the fall season Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 4 p.m. against Northwestern Oklahoma State University (NWOSU) at the OU Softball Complex. The Sooners own a perfect 5-0 mark this fall and have outscored their opponents 46-2.
Oklahoma squared off against NWOSU earlier this season in the OU Fall Festival. The Sooners claimed a 9-0 win over the Rangers. Sophomore hurler Jadyn Smith earned the win for OU after holding NWOSU scoreless through five innings of work while sophomore Savannah Long’s two-run homer led an Oklahoma offense that produced 11 hits and six RBI.
Oklahoma will conclude its entire fall season this weekend when it hits the road for the Spring Klein College Classic held in Houston, Texas, Oct. 14-17. The Sooners will start off the tournament Friday with a 7 p.m. meeting against New Mexico State. In Saturday’s action, Oklahoma will meet up with 2005 NCAA Regional foe Louisiana Lafayette at 1 p.m. OU’s final game on Saturday will be against tournament host Houston at 5 p.m.
Sunday’s meetings will feature Oklahoma against Texas State with the first pitch thrown at 9 a.m. Immediately following that game, OU will wrap up its fall season and the tournament with an 11 a.m. game vs. North Texas.
