Sooners Host Bedlam Tuesday

NORMAN, Okla.,--The Oklahoma men’s tennis team will host this year’s Bedlam, Tuesday, April 10 at the Headington Family Tennis Center. The No. 32 Sooners are set to square off against the No. 14 Cowboys at 6 p.m.

 

The Sooners are 16-4 on the season and 0-1 in Big 12 play. Tuesday night’s match will be OU’s second against a conference opponent. Oklahoma is led by No. 58 freshman Vaclav Kucera. The Sooners and the Cowboys met earlier this season in the ITA Central Region Team Playoff where OU fell to OSU.

 

Oklahoma State is 12-1 overall and 1-0 in Big 12 play. The pokes lone loss came to Illinois in the USTA/ITA Indoor Championships. OSU is currently ranked No. 14 by the ITA and climbed to No. 10 earlier this season. The Cowboys are led by No. 26 junior Ivan Puchkarov and 35-year coach James Wadley.

 

“I believe our players are excited and ready to play the Cowboys again,” said OU Head Coach Paul Lockwood. “We lost a close 3-4 to OSU in January and feel that we have improved since then. We ready and looking forward to the challenge of Tuesday’s Bedlam match.”

 

Live scoring of the match will be available at SoonerSports.com along with a recap following the conclusion of play. The first 150 fans in attendance will receive an OU visor.
