NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma Men's Golf team continues its 2002 spring season in Tempe, Ariz., on April 12-13 (Fri.-Sat.) at the 30th annual ASU Thunderbird/SAVANE Invitational at Karsten Golf Course (par-72, 7,037 yards.). The 15-team field inlcudes Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Houston, New Mexico, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Pepperdine, Stanford, Texas, TCU, UCLA, Southern California and Washington. The Sooners are coming off a fiftth-place showing at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate.

"We have a good lineup heading to Arizona State this weekend," said Oklahoma Head Coach Jim Ragan. "Certainly John Kidwell, Cody Freeman and Martin Flores have proven to be steady performers this season and Matt Cohn had a couple of good rounds in Austin. In fact, he came back here and won our qualifying round for ASU. So it looks like he's back on track and looking forward to getting back out there and competing on a regular basis.

Sophomore Blake Martin is back in the starting lineup having already competed in two events this spring in Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

"Blake has certainly proven himself in our qualifying events and was a factor in our success in Hawaii," said Ragan. "I think there are some good things to come for him in the future and hopefully they will happen soon."

Last year in Tempe, the Sooners finished 14th with a score of 867 (+3). Kelsey Cline led OU tying for 29th while Flores and Kidwell each tied for 41st.
