NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's and women's tennis teams travel to Albuquerque, N.M., on Tuesday, Feb. 5, to take on New Mexico in their first road matches. The men will start at 3 p.m. CST and the women will play at 5 p.m. at the Lobo Tennis Club.

The Oklahoma men's tennis team is 2-0 on the season after defeating the University of Oklahoma Science & Arts (7-0, 7-0). The Sooners will be playing without No.4 singles and No.3 doubles player Matt Ogle due to an illness. New Mexico is 2-2, with wins over Northern Arizona and then-No.59 Boise State and losses to then-No.60 Yale and then-No.53 San Diego State.

"This is an early season challenge for our team," said OU head coach Paul Lockwood. "New Mexico is a top 75 team, and playing at their home court will be a tough match for us. We're playing our matches this week a little short handed, but that gives the other players an opportunity to step up and contribute."

The Sooner women are coming off a two-match sweep of Oklahoma Baptist University (7-0, 7-0) last weekend to open their season. The Lobo women are 2-2, defeating Northern Arizona and San Diego and losing to Kansas State and Arizona.

"New Mexico has a strong team, and this will be a real test for us," said OU head coach Mark Johnson. "We will be playing five newcomers in the top six. This will be their first taste of a tough road match."

The OU men return home on Friday, Feb. 8, with a match against Southwest Missouri State. Match time is set for 5 p.m. at the Oaktree Country Club in Edmond. The women return home on Sunday, Feb. 10, with a match against Minnesota. Match time is set for noon at the Sante Fe Country Club in Oklahoma City.
