Men's Tennis Concludes First Day of Play at Texas A&M

NORMAN, Okla. Three University of Oklahoma men’s tennis players pick up singles wins against the 19th ranked Aggies on day one of the Texas A&M Invitational Friday at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station, Texas.

In singles action, the Sooners clinched the wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions, as well as the No. 7 spot.  Number one junior Alexei Ivanov fought in a tough three-set match and won, 3-6, 6-4, 7-6, to Jerry Makowski. At number two, senior Ondrej Fukala overcame Yevgeny Supeko, 6-4,6-4.  Freshmen Razvan Axente defeated Dash Connell, 6-3, 6-4. The remaining Sooners each suffered losses in their respective singles matches.

In doubles action, the Sooners dropped all three matches against a talented Aggies team.

The Sooners resume action Saturday at 8:30 a.m. when they take on the LSU tigers.
