NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma women's gymnastics team dominated three of the four events Friday en route to a 195.225-194.100 victory over Texas Woman's University (6-14) at the OU Field House in Norman, Okla. The Sooner gymnasts occupied the top four spots on the vault, uneven parallel bars and the floor exercise.

No. 20 OU (15-4) was led by freshman Kasie Tamayo, who won her third all-around title of the season with a 39.550, and record-breaking performances on the vault and the floor exercise.

Tamayo, whose all-around score was the second highest in school history, also won the uneven parallel bars (9.925) and the balance beam (9.900).

The vault team score of 49.425 was an all-time OU best and the 9.950 scored by sophomore Leah Mueller and freshman Carla DeMartini was good for second place in the Oklahoma record book. Mueller captured her eighth vault title on the year.

Sophomore Leticia Ishii tied the school record with a 9.950 on the floor exercise for the title. Ishii also added a second-place finish in the all-around.

Oklahoma hosts the 2001 Big 12 Championships Saturday, March 24, at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Okla., beginning at 7 p.m.
