NORMAN, Okla. -- The Sooners (0-1) will play one more road game on Friday, Aug. 27 at Tulsa before opening up the home portion of the schedule this weekend in Norman. Friday's game is slated for a 7:35 p.m. start at the Hurricane Soccer Stadium. Tulsa is 2-0 on the season after topping Arkansas-Little Rock, 5-1, and Northwestern State, 4-0, last weekend at home.

The Sooners have won five straight games over the Golden Hurricane and own a 6-2 advantage in the all-time series after claiming a 3-1 victory in Norman last season. OU leads 3-0 when games are played at Tulsa with the last in 2004 (OU, 3-1).

Tulsa returns 13 letterwinners and five starters from the 2009 team (7-10-2) that finished 10th in Conference USA with a 4-7 mark.

Sophomore forward Stephanie Aitken leads the Golden Hurricane offense with three goals, while freshman forward Claire Nicholson has two goals on the year.

Game 3 | vs. Stephen F. Austin
Oklahoma welcomes Stephen F. Austin (1-1) for the 2010 home opener at the OU Soccer Complex on Sunday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. The Ladyjacks host Arkansas (1-0) on Friday night. SFA is 1-1 on the season after winning at home against Louisiana Tech, 2-1, in the 2010 opener and dropping a road contest at Rice, 3-1, two days later.

The Sooners and Ladyjacks last met in 2006, also in Norman, and OU evened the all-time series at one game apiece following a 3-0 win. The two teams also met in 1998 at Stephen F. Austin and the home team prevailed by a 2-1 count.

SFA returns 15 letterwinners and 10 starters from the 2009 team that was 10-8-2 overall and finished third in the Southland Conference (6-2-1). Tony Amato enters his first year at the helm after taking over for George Van Linder (OU associate head coach).

The Ladyjacks' three goals in 2010 have come from three different attackers in senior forward Kim Kimmel, junior forward Janae Lee and sophomore midfielder Kylie Louw.

Player to Watch - Jordan White | JR | MF
White led OU with two shots during the 2010 opener at then-No. 19 Oklahoma State. The Sooners lost 1-0, but White's shot with 19 minutes remaining nearly tied the contest. Unfortunately, the blast from 25-yards out was saved over the crossbar by OSU goalkeeper Adrianna Franch.

Last Time Out
The Sooners' upset bid at then-No. 19 Oklahoma State fell short in a 1-0 decision last Friday. The Cowgirls scored in the 36th minute and held on for victory, the 12th meeting in 16 all-time games that was decided by one goal. The game was not part of the Big 12 Conference schedule and OSU will return the trip for the season finale in Norman on Oct. 29.

Next Weekend
The Sooners host Colorado College on Sunday, Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. The Tigers lead the series, 2-0, after claiming victories during the 2008 and 2000 campaigns. Colorado College is making its first trip to Norman.

OU-SFA Connection
All three members of the OU coaching staff previously were employed at Stephen F. Austin. Head coach Nicole Nelson was at the helm of the Ladyjack program from 2002-2004 and left as SFA's all-time leader in wins with 33. Associate head coach George Van Linder and assistant coach Trae Manny led the SFA program for the last two years before coming to Norman. Van Linder (head coach) and Manny (assistant coach) combined to lead the Ladyjacks to 19 wins.

Home Openers
OU is 8-5-1 all-time in home openers, including a 1-1 mark under head coach Nicole Nelson. The Sooners won last year's installment 3-0 over Missouri State and are 6-2-1 in the last nine home openers. In addition, OU has outscored the opposition 35-2 in the eight wins during home openers.

20 Deep?

OU showcased what is probably Nicole Nelson's deepest squad in the season opener at then-No. 19 OSU. Twenty players saw time in the season opener, including eight freshmen. Caitlin Mooney (sophomore) and Carrie Whigham (freshman) were the only two newcomers to start the game. In 2009, 22 players saw time on the field. In 2008, Nelson played 18 different Sooners.

Palmer Up for Lowe's Senior CLASS Award
Senior forward Whitney Palmer was one of 30 NCAA women's soccer candidates included on the Aug. 18 listing for the 2010 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. A two-time Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll honoree and member of the President and Dean's Honor Roll, Palmer has excelled on the field and holds five OU records and ranks second all-time with 29 goals.

Palmer Climbing OU Charts
Palmer already is among the program's most prolific goal scorers in OU history, currently ranking in the top five of 11 different offensive categories, including second place with 29 career goals. In 2009 against Tulsa, she became just the second player in school history to record a hat trick.

Below is a look at her OU records:

Career Records
2nd with 29 goals
3rd with 61 points
T-4th with six game-winning goals
5th with 162 shots

Single Season Records
1st with 15 goals in 2009
1st with 32 points in 2009
4th with eight goals in 2008
10th with 16 points in 2008
T-3rd with four game winners in 2007

Misc. Records
T-1st with three goals in a game
T-1st with goals in four consecutive games
T-1st with two assists in one game

Palmer Named Preseason All-Big 12
OU senior forward Whitney Palmer was named to the 2010 All-Big 12 soccer preseason team as voted on by the conference's coaches. The Plano, Texas, native is the first Sooner to be selected to the preseason team twice in her career after appearing on the list last season.

In 2009, Palmer became the first player in program history to lead the team outright in goals scored in three consecutive seasons after finishing the year with a school-record 15 scores. That total ranked 12th nationally and second in the Big 12 Conference.

Tough Competition
In 2010, Oklahoma will play five games (four on the road) against teams that advanced to last year's NCAA Tournament, including two contests against Oklahoma State, a team that advanced to the second round. OU will also face USC (first round), Santa Barbara (first round) and Texas A&M (Sweet 16), all NCAA participants a year ago. In addition, OU faces five other squads that rattled off 10 or more wins a year ago.

National Team Experience a Plenty
The additions of freshman Zoe Dickson, sophomore Caitlin Mooney and freshman Carrie Whigham gives OU six players with national team experience on the 2010 roster. Sophomore Dria Hampton and senior Whitney Palmer (U.S.) and Katharine Nutman (England) complete the list.

In February, Whigham captained the U-18 U.S. National Team in a tournament in Spain. Whigham is the lone freshman expected to start on opening day in 2010.
