Secrest Earns Big 12 Honors
Following the Sooners' back-to-back home shutouts, senior Christen Secrest was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week.
This marks the second consecutive week Secrest has won an award. Last week, the Norman native was named to Soccer America's National Team of the Week.
In the two Central Region Polls, the Sooners are ranked sixth (Soccer Buzz) and ninth (NCSAA/adidas). The sixth-place ranking in Soccer Buzz's poll is the highest ever for Oklahoma.
The Jayhawks (4-2) split a pair of games in Florida last weekend, losing to Florida State, 4-1, on Friday before defeating Central Florida, 2-1, on Sunday.
Hilla Rantala leads the Big 12 in points (15) and goals scored (seven).
The all-time series is tied at two after Oklahoma won last year, 4-0, in Norman.
The Tigers (5-2) started the season with five straight home victories before dropping a pair last weekend at the Duke Invitational Tournament. On Friday, Mizzou fell to the Blue Devils, 3-2, and lost to No. 1 North Carolina, 7-0, on Sunday.
Missouri is led by Adrienne Davis (a conference-leading 15 points and seven assists) and Melissa Peabody (five goals).
The Tigers defeated OU, 1-0, last year in Norman and lead the series, 4-0.
