NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma Sooners (7-7) travel to College Station, Texas, to open the Big 12 portion of the schedule as they face No. 21 Texas A&M (9-6, 0-1) on Friday at 6 p.m.
"We are looking forward to opening Big 12 play and we will be facing a very good team in Texas A&M and we need to make sure we come focused and prepared to battle," head coach Paul Lockwood said.
The Sooners defeated Cameron and OBU in Norman on Tuesday.
"Tuesday's matches served as good preparation for Friday but A&M is one of the best teams we will have faced this season and it will be a very good test for our team," Lockwood added.
Last season Oklahoma defeated Texas A&M by a score of 6-1. The win was the first for the Sooners over A&M since 1997.
Oklahoma is ranked No. 61 in the March 25 release of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) team rankings.
Sophomore Andrei Daescu is ranked No. 39 in the ITA singles rankings.
Next up, the Sooners continue play in the state of Texas as they face No. 5 Texas in Austin, on Sunday. The match is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
