Norman, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's basketball program announced its television package for the 2002-03 season today. OU will appear in 11 televised games on either FOX Sports Net, Sooner Sports Network, ESPN or ESPN2.

The Sooners tip-off regular season action by playing in the 10th Annual State Farm Tip-Off Classic in Knoxville, Tenn. The OU-Tennessee matchup will be a nationally televised game on ESPN that features two teams that appeared in last year's NCAA Final Four.

Due to the Sooners' success last season and as part of the Big 12 Conference television package, Oklahoma will make four appearances on FOX Sports Net. OU will first appear on FOX at Nebraska on Jan. 11, and will host Kansas State on Feb. 1 and Iowa State on Feb. 22. OU concludes its FOX television package with a showdown against Oklahoma State in Stillwater on March 1.

Fox Sports Net will broadcast 25 Big 12 Conference games. Eighteen regular season games and seven Big 12 Tournament matchups are included in the package. One regular season appearance has been designated as a "wildcard game" on Feb. 22. The matchup will be selected based on conference standings approximately two weeks prior to the telecast.

OU is one of only six teams from the conference that will be appear on ESPN2. Two of the ESPN2 games will showcase the Big 12/Big Ten Challenge, while the other two are conference matchups. Oklahoma's conference matchup will be against Colorado on Feb. 19 in Boulder, Colo., at 3 p.m.

In addition, Sooner Sports Properties will air five games, matching the total number of games SSN televised last year.
