NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Phylesha Whaley and LaNeishea Caufield each scored 21 points as No. 25 Oklahoma beat Colorado 76-73 on Saturday night.
Oklahoma's Sunny Hardeman blocked a shot with 14 seconds remaining, and Caufield made two free throws to complete the scoring. Colorado was not able to get a shot off on its final possession.
"Close games help you down the stretch," Oklahoma coach Sherri Coale said. "I'm just glad this game was in Norman."
Oklahoma, ranked for the first time since February 1995, improved to 15-3 overall and 5-0 in the Big 12. The Sooners are 14-1 in their last 15, with the only loss to No. 1 Connecticut.
Jenny Roulier and Mandy Nightengale each had 17 points for Colorado (6-10, 1-4).
"We had a chance to win," Colorado coach Ceal Barry said. "If we make our free throws, we win."
