GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Junior Jimyria Hicks ran a 12.10 to win her heat and finish second in the 100-meter dash to post the best indvidiualperformance by the University of Oklahoma trackand field teams at the Florida Relays today.
The third day of the 58th annual Relays battled the elements all day as rain fell throughout most of the day and even caused a delay when the timing equipment got water logged.
Other Sooners to place in the College/Open day of competition included LaKisha Robinson, who was 17th in the 400 with a 57.79, Sand Swaby, who was fifth in the pole vault with an outdoor career-best 10-10 and 10th in the 100-meter high hurdles with a 14.59, the women's sprint medley relay which was sixth with a 4:00.53, L'eron George, who was sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.05, Marcus Bivines, who was 13th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.16, Edwin Jones, 28th in the 100 with an 11.53, Jonas Lusk, 15th in 110-meter high hurdles, the men's sprint medley relay which finished second with a 3:22.61,and the men's 4 x 110-meter shuttle hurdle relay which was third with a 58.03.
Several Sooners qualified for the invitational events which begin at 11 a.m. Saturday. Meanwhile, quite a few OU athletes will compete in the Arlington Invitational all day Saturday.
