Head Coach Bob Stoops
"It was a well played, good football game. I knew it would be a battle and it would be tough. If you watch them, everyone they've played, especially here at home, they've been tight games, so I'm proud of our team to finish the way they did here away from home in a good atmosphere.
"I thought Landry Jones was exceptional and had a huge day. Brennan Clay had a huge day as well. I thought our offensive line was really was good and our protection was good. Defensively, I thought we were really good for most of the day. Give Iowa State credit. They worked it and got a couple of drives going, but I was pleased by the defense. There was very little that was easy for them to pick up or to pick up any big plays. We made them earn everything they got. They will earn their points because they're good."
On Landry Jones:
"He was really good, especially playing away from home and against a team that has played really good defense. We got some things going and I think the ability to run the football helped."
On Brennan Clay:
"He was huge. Give the line credit and those guys that were in front of him did a really nice job throughout the game. It wasn't always clean, but it isn't going to be because they have good players too. Brennan had a great day."
On deciding to take a shot at the end of the half:
"When you're backed up we always say that if we get a first down, we're going fast. We got some shots and we got in hurry-up mode and found some big plays."
WR Justin Brown
On offensive performance:
"Did what we had to do. Iowa State has a really good defense. We put a lot of points on the board but now we need to get ready for next week."
On 40-yard catch to set up TD at the end of the first half:
"We knew it was going to be a two-minute situation and we would have to take some shots down field. Landry threw it up and that is when he trusts us, so we have to come down with those catches."
QB Landry Jones
On offensive performance:
"Statistically we played really well. I threw two picks today but as a whole we came back and handled that really well. A great job by the defense who held them to field goals after my mistakes"
On Brennan Clay:
"One of those deals where it is next guy up. We leaned on Brennan today and he did an excellent job. Brennan has always been a guy who regardless will work hard."
RB Brennan Clay
On his performance:
"I had my opportunity today and I came in and was able to step up. That's what they expect so that's what I had to do."
Head Coach Paul Rhoads
"We gave ourselves an opportunity in the first half with a couple of key turnovers. Then we lost seven valuable points at the end of the first half. I didn't feel we lost momentum. I thought we were unaffected by that. It was the seven points that was more concerning. Third down was a big factor in this ball game. We couldn't get them off the field, and we couldn't stay on the field."
On Oklahoma touchdown at end of the first half:
"Landry Jones threw an accurate pass and No. 19 made a gifted catch right on the sideline. You see that week in and week out in this league. This league is loaded with talent. It's a very exciting brand of football, and you have to step up and make plays. Their guys did, and we didn't in that particular situation."
On Steele Jantz:
"I think he played well. He gave us an opportunity to be in it and made some accurate throws. It wasn't his best decision making game, but he continues to learn, and we'll continue to coach him."
On team's attitude:
"We expected to win the football game. That's how we prepared, and that's how we came into Jack Trice Stadium today. We expected to win the game."
On red zone offense:
"We didn't come away with two `big' field goals. We came away with field goals. We didn't come away with two big touchdowns."
On OU receivers:
"That football team is full of men. That team is big all around and is skilled at every position. They played to the level of their physical ability."
On Durrell Givens:
"His first interception was a big time play. It was a big time catch and a great break on the ball. They say that defensive backs should be able to cover one third of the pass distance while the ball is in the air, and he did that and maybe more on that play. On the second interception, he was in the right play at the right time. He showed great concentration while holding onto the football. Good team defense creates turnovers."
DL Jake McDonough
On OU offense:
"They were very fast paced, their quarterback was on point all game. They came to play and we knew they would and we had to figure out a way to respond. They just kept coming at us."
On secret to the OU offense:
"Landry Jones. He was on fire, he was making the right passes and they were making the right reads and finding the open man. He was putting the ball where the receivers were able to make plays, it was frustrating."
LB Jevohn Miller
On how he played:
"I think I did alright. There is a lot I can improve on. I need to get in the film room a lot more so I can expect what the offense is going to do and I'm better prepared."
